I’m excited to share that your library will be upgraded to the new OverDrive on November 16, 2016. You can preview the website here: https://adl.overdrive.com/preview. Your launch timeline is detailed below.
October 17: Website access
I encourage you to share this preview with all staff and member libraries so they can experience the new website prior to launch. I hope you will share your feedback and questions about the website with me during this preview period. Note: During this preview period, EZproxy authentication is not supported due to technical limitations. EZproxy authentication will be supported upon launch.
November 1: Patron preview
Your library’s current OverDrive website will be updated with a link to encourage users to try the new OverDrive website before its launch. Users can share their feedback about the new experience via a brief survey located on the new website. Note: During this preview period, sign in for member libraries using EZproxy authentication will not be possible. Patrons will see a note on the sign-in page that informs them of the launch date.
November 16: Launch
The new OverDrive will become the user experience. Users will also experience the new OverDrive when using the OverDrive app. As part of the website launch, we will remove “/preview” from the URL above, and it will become your new OverDrive website address. At that time, any existing links or custom URLs pointing to the old URL (the URL that includes “.lib”) will redirect automatically to your new website. No action is required on your part.
Details about staff training opportunities and the features and customization available for your new website are provided in this PDF guide. It is extremely important that you and your staff review this information as soon as possible to prepare for the transition to the new OverDrive website.
